The German automaker Porsche has halted both the production and sale of the Panamera Sport Turismo station wagon, according to motor1.com. The model will no longer roll off the assembly line.
Porsche attributes the decision to weak market demand. The Sport Turismo represented less than 10% of total Panamera sales, a share that underscored why Porsche chose to discontinue its production.
First unveiled in 2017 and redesigned in 2020, the Panamera Sport Turismo added a practical wagon form to the Panamera lineup while preserving its performance-oriented character. In the broader context of the Panamera family, Porsche had already introduced the third-generation Panamera, with sales slated to begin in March 2024. The base version of this generation featured a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 delivering 353 horsepower, and customers could also opt for a hybrid powertrain.
Across Europe, base Panamera pricing starts at 107,800 euros, which is about 10% higher than the second-generation model. The hybrid version begins at 192,500 euros, reflecting the added technology and efficiency.
Meanwhile, in Russia, the market has seen the introduction of the Kia Seltos, a compact crossover that competes in a different segment of the market. (Source attribution: Motor1)
