Advance sale of tickets for the Film Festival opens this week, inviting audiences to experience a four day program from November 4 through November 7. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday on theater websites and traditional retail channels, and at the box office on the day of each screening. The organizers emphasize value with multi day passes and reduced pricing for the four days, making it easier for movie lovers in Canada and the United States to enjoy a broad slate. Across 300 cinemas nationwide, audiences will find screenings that mix premieres with week long showcases, including newly released titles like Amal, Venom: The Last Dance, Soy Nevenka, Bitelchus, Bitelchus, and Joker: Folie à Deux, offering a diverse range of stories and genres.
The Federation of Spanish Cinemas announced a reduced price for the four festival days and highlighted access at 300 theaters across the country. The lineup features newly released titles among week long screenings such as Amal, Venom: The Last Dance, Soy Nevenka, Bitelchus, Bitelchus, and Joker: Folie à Deux, reflecting a mix of drama, humor, and edge of seat cinema. — Federation of Spanish Cinemas
Almodóvar leads a billboard with no shortage of horror or comedy
Promotional posters and stills capture the festival mood, signaling a strong blend of drama, humor, and suspense across the program. There is also a sense that the festival is anchored by influential figures in Spanish cinema, including the presence of Almodóvar, whose work continues to shape contemporary storytelling on the big screen.
There are also films that will start showing this Thursday due to the November 1 holiday, such as Spanish director Rodrigo Cortés’s Escape.
The initiative, backed by the Federation of Film Distributors, known as Fmedicine, the Federation of Spanish Cinemas and the Ministry of Culture, has been re proposed to encourage participation in cinema venues.
To this end, this year, as in the last two years, two representatives of the Spanish film industry will serve as ambassadors of the Film Festival.
These are filmmaker Pablo Berger, responsible for the successful Robot Dreams, and actress Malena Alterio, who was awarded the best leading performance award at the 2024 edition of the Goya Awards for her work in Que Nadie Duerma.
