Almaraz Unit I Reconnects to Grid Amid Price Slump

At 14:02 on the past Sunday, Unit I of the Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant reacquired connection to the electricity grid after being offline for a little over two weeks, since the 8th of the month. On that same day, the plant in Cáceres and the Cofrentes facility in Valencia both halted generation to avoid producing output at a loss due to plunging power prices. The reconnection progressed gradually, and the expectation was that today the plant would be able to operate at full capacity, according to a note published in the late afternoon yesterday on the Centrales Nucleares Almaraz-Trillo website.
