Authorities report a case involving a person accused of engaging in coercive and violent behavior toward a former partner. A criminal complaint alleges that the individual sexually assaulted his girlfriend, whom he allegedly controlled with strict supervision until January of this year. Investigators state that the accused threatened her with lethal violence if she sought contact with another child or if she dated someone else, purportedly displaying a firearm during the confrontation. The victim had just reached the age of 16 at the time of these events.
The allegations of ill-treatment appear to have begun when the victim was 13 years old, continuing for two years even after the dating relationship ended. In light of the severity of the reported conduct, the Valencia Juvenile Court, acting on the request of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, ordered that the minor be held in a secure facility while the case proceeds.
The facts came to light through the secondary education institution where the victim is employed. During therapy sessions, the victim disclosed the painful experiences she had kept hidden for a long period, stemming from fear of the accused. With the support of a mental health professional, the reporting process began and the youth filed formal statements at the Civil Guard barracks within the same week.
Threats and sexual assaults
According to the complaint, the victim endured three sexual assaults between December 2022 and January 2023. In one incident, the alleged aggressor reportedly displayed a firearm and threatened to kill her if she did not yield to his sexual demands. The victim recalls the weapon as heavy, though she does not know whether it was real or simulated. The threat was explicit: dating someone else would result in the death of both herself and the other person involved.
The report also notes an attempt to strangle her using a method described as a killing technique near the entrance of a garage, followed by the intentional hurling of an alcoholic drink at her. The sequence of events is attributed to jealousy and a possessive, controlling attitude toward the victim, consistent with patterns observed in abusive relationships.
Isolation and control
The complaint details how the former partner isolated the victim from her social circle and exerted control over her online presence. He reportedly deleted any photos of her that he disapproved of, restricted her interactions with friends, and demanded the removal of photos or posts that reflected on her outfits or demeanor. The behavior described aligns with common tactics used by individuals who seek to constrain their partners, independent of the abuser’s age, and it underscores the persistent power imbalance at the core of the case.
