Good news for lovers of fine cuisine. La Galería de La Mirada restaurant ignites the current edition of Menjars de la Terra in La Zenia, kicking off a new week that invites travelers through all Alicante regions to savor their culinary treasures.
The second week of the season began with an event organized by INFORMACIÓN, supported by the Provincial Council. Menjars de la Terra returns after last year’s success, continuing a tradition of gastronomy days that highlight regional products. The venue, rooted in tradition yet pushing modern, signature cuisine, sits in a prime Mediterranean-front location. The young yet seasoned chef, Miguel Ángel Montesinos, brings energy and commitment to every plate. Today the experience is expected to delight more than one hundred guests who will enjoy curated offers.
Rich treasures of Vega Baja in Menjars de la Terra
Last year saw thirty-five restaurants participate in the program that followed the province’s most beloved gastronomy days. The response from guests was outstanding, with over five thousand diners enjoying menus crafted for the occasion, prompting organizers, sponsors, and collaborators to repeat the format. The return follows a proven model: gastronomy weeks spanning Monday to Friday, visiting different restaurants across the region, with Denominations of Origin councils contributing to the initiative. A clear aim is to promote Alicante products across the province.
Artichoke emerges as the hero for this week’s events in Vega Baja, celebrated as the jewel of the regional orchard with multiple preparations. After today’s opening, sessions move to the far end of Orihuela, where the Pico del Águila estate in La Aparecida awaits with a remarkable menu and entertainment.
