AEPA continues to elevate the voice of women in leadership within the company by fostering associationism and business advocacy. This momentum was reflected at the latest Board of Directors meeting, where emphasis was placed on expanding female leadership through strategic alliances and regional growth. The organization celebrates a notable rise in membership this year, alongside the advancement of new initiatives designed to broaden its network and amplify women’s entrepreneurship and leadership across the Alicante province, including Vega Baja and Bajo Vinalopó as focal points.

In light of these developments, AEPA has decided to strengthen its governance framework with the appointment of new leadership. Carolina Martinez Garcia Fernandez Losada is introduced as director of the business organization, with a clear aim to enhance employee support and actively collaborate with Alicante associations to reinforce regional business ecosystems.

Two professionals specializing in equality, Maria Teresa Rubio Gomez and Maria Ardid Martinez, have joined the board as advisors, enriching AEPA’s governance with diverse perspectives on inclusive practices and equitable opportunity.

New AEPA initiatives: fostering entrepreneurship and innovation

On the entrepreneurship front, AEPA remains firmly committed to supporting female founders by recognizing excellence through partnerships with local universities. The initiative includes awarding Impulse Awards at the University of Alicante and organizing start-up creation marathons at Miguel Hernandez University, along with new ideas contests sponsored by FUNDEUN. These programs are designed to catalyze practical entrepreneurship, mentorship, and startup culture within the region.

Regarding equality, AEPA continues to back the AEPA Summer Courses and develops specialized curricula at the University of Alicante. The association is also involved in the Digital Gender Gap Study conducted with GNA, supports the Equality Seal program for 2022, and endorses the Alicante Provincial Council’s leadership training for women. These efforts aim to reduce gender disparities and promote inclusive leadership across sectors.

AEPA’s report also highlights the organization’s inclusion in the Valencian Community Business Confederation’s newly formed commissions for Communication, Corporate Reputation, and Equality, underscoring a broader commitment to responsible governance and social impact.
