Alicante’s Fempa, the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs, requested 1.3 million euros from Digital Kit for about 300 regional businesses. These funds aim to boost competitiveness by accelerating the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises in the area.
The Kit Digital program, launched by Red.es, a public institution linked to the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transformation and coordinated by the Minister of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, continues to progress and amplify its positive effects on companies in Spain and in Alicante.
To enroll in the Acelera Pyme program, the January digitizing agent window opened, with formal requests possible from companies employing 10 to fewer than 50 staff up to 12,000 euros. This segment was extended through March 15, 2023.
On September 2, the second segment opened, targeting firms with 3 to 10 employees so they could receive 6,000 euros to implement digital solutions.
During this period, the Fempa Acelera Pyme Office for Alicante reported that a free Digital Kit service app had been launched for local companies to increase visibility and showcase a strong commitment to regional economic growth and digital capability, according to Luis Rodríguez, CEO of Fempa.
Throughout the Digital Kit application process, Fempa’s Acelera Pyme Office requested more than one million euros, totaling 1,362 thousand, for 283 Alicante-based companies.
The list includes 32 companies with more than 10 employees who received 12,000 euros by redeeming their digital coupons through the office; 119 companies with 3 to 10 employees received 6,000 euros; and 132 companies with fewer than 3 employees received 2,000 euros.
A further 202 companies are currently processing assistance details with Fempa to act as a voluntary representative before Red.es, the autonomous body of the Ministry that administers the Digital Kit. The program attracted strong interest in Alicante, with nearly one hundred companies still in the documentation stage.
For all these reasons, Luis Rodríguez reiterated the importance and impact of this program on the daily life of the local business environment and the potential for a stable, qualitative leap in digitization.

Our work serving the state and its companies remains highly relevant. Rodríguez noted that more than one million euros have been raised to digitize over 200 Alicante SMEs. The organization will continue to inform, advise, and process digital bonds as needed to help the country make the most of this historic Next Generation EU funding.
The Acelera Pyme Offices, launched nationwide through the Ministry for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, have become a critical tool to promote, support, and guide companies through digitalization. They operate with a total budget of 8 million euros, with Red.es receiving 6.3 million and the remaining amount allocated to beneficiary organizations. The actions are co-financed with FEDER funds from the European Union under Spain’s Multi-Regional Operational Program FEDER 2014-2020, under the slogan “A way to make Europe.”
