Alicante is strengthening its reputation as a top cruise hub on the southern coast, drawing attention from operators and travelers alike. Over the coming week, five ships are expected to call at the port, carrying about 10,000 passengers. One notable entry involves an American luxury liner that will visit with just 200 guests aboard, underscoring the city’s appeal to affluent travelers.
Details from the Alicante Costa Blanca Tourism and Cruises Association show two packed weeks for the port. On Wednesday, MSC Orchestra from MSC Cruises will arrive with a capacity for 2,551 passengers. The schedule then includes the Seven Seas Navigator on the 20th, registered in the United States and operated by Regent Seven Seas Cruises, with a 490-passenger capacity.
On September 23, Vasco da Gama, also registered in the United States and operated by Mystic Ocean, will make Alicante its first appearance, carrying 1,490 guests. A day later, the Arvia from P&O Cruises, the vessel with the largest capacity in the lineup, will dock with 5,200 passengers.
Amid the announcements stands the arrival on the 25th of World Traveller by Mystic Cruises, a luxury vessel with space for only 200 guests, marking a historic first scale in the port.
Taken together, the forthcoming calls reflect a mix of mass-market and luxury offerings, helping Alicante diversify its cruising profile and boost local tourism sectors.
