An attack was carried out on the US Tanf military base in Syria by Iraqi Shiite militia fighters. TV channel reports this El Mayadeen.

The Iraqi Islamic Resistance, a Shiite militia group that previously fought against the Islamic State in Iraq, claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Shiite group said in a statement that the unmanned aerial vehicle successfully hit a target inside the US base. In addition, powerful explosions were heard at the US military base near the Koniko gas field in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province during the night.

Al-Tanf base is located illegally on Syrian territory, without the permission of the Syrian government and the authority of the UN.

Prior to this, the US State Department had declared the pro-Iran paramilitary group Kataib Sayyed al-Shuhada and its leader Hashim Finyan Rahim al-Sarraj, operating in Iraq, as international terrorists.

Previously Iran was threatened “Heavy blow” to the USA and boycott of goods.
