RECICLOS sweetens the recycling festival with Elche’s Mollar pomegranate

Elche residents who recycle cans and plastic drink bottles in yellow containers or RECICLOS machines have been enjoying great rewards since March.

In order to involve all citizens and encourage them to continue recycling, Ecoembes, in collaboration with the Elche City Council and the PDO of Granada Mollar de Elche, has organized a recycling day for Saturday, November 18th. environmental education workshops, mixologists and Mollar pomegranate juice tastings. The meeting will take place in Glorieta between 11.00-14.00.

All people who register for the free RECICLOS application will be able to enjoy this wonderful recycling festival, where adults and children can properly learn about the advantages of recycling, not only because of its benefits to the environment. This action comes loaded with great rewards.

The initiative was presented at a press conference at an event held in Plaza Baix and attended by Councilor for Corporate Affairs, Environment, Palmeral, Agriculture and Water Juan de Dios Navarro and the president of the Granada Mollar PDO. Elche, Francisco Oliva.

In his speech, the council member emphasized the importance of launching such initiatives. “to promote recycling among citizens and contribute to the protection of the environment.” He also explained that “By downloading the RECICLOS APP you can not only earn sustainable rewards, but also donate your RECICLOS points to environmental initiatives in the city of Elche.” Juan de Dios also wanted to encourage all Elche residents to participate in the big recycling party that will take place in Glorieta on Saturday.

The DOP president, on the other hand, thanked Ecoembes and the City Council for choosing Elche’s Mollar pomegranate as the shooting point of this campaign, considering that this fruit is a national and international reference for the city.

RECICLOS wants to sweeten this festive occasion by taking advantage of the fact that we are in the middle of the Mollar pomegranate season in Elche, by offering neighbors and visitors a taste of the only pomegranate with the Protected Designation of Origin. It is undoubtedly one of the city’s tourist attractions, of which Elche residents are most proud, due to its extensive international travels.

This recognition has been made possible thanks to DOP’s excellent work to promote this fruit and its outstanding qualities that make it the queen of all pomegranates.

An entire city is in favor of recycling

Although the big day of the Ecoembes recycling festival will be on 18 November, environmental informants will tour the town until 15 December, with the aim of bringing RECICLOS closer to the entire city of Elche.

The campaign will also reach schools and institutes where different speeches will be given to students. Thanks to these visits to training centers, students will be able to learn first-hand the advantages of packaging recycling and the rewards and donations that will be given for registering with the RECICLOS application.

This is how RECYCLING works

To use this system, citizens only need to download the application. free app RECYCLINGS and scan the barcode of the can or plastic bottle they want to recycle at home before throwing it in the trash. When you go out and go to the yellow container with your packaging bag, you should leave the bag there and scan the QR code on the container.

This SDR also has machines where users just need to put all their cans and plastic drink bottles into a RECYCLING machine and scan the QR which the machine will display.
