Microsoft Ignite 2023: Windows App Enables Cross‑Device Remote Desktop Access

During Ignite 2023, Microsoft announced a new Windows App designed to connect to virtual desktops from iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, and other Windows devices, according to GizChin.

The Windows App enables remote access to the Windows 365 cloud PC, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Dev Box tools, or a standard personal desktop. It supports iOS, macOS, and Windows, with a web version also available. An Android client is in development and expected to be released later.

The preview version of the Windows App is ready for download from the Microsoft Store on Windows PCs. On Apple hardware, the utility can currently be launched in TestFlight mode.

Microsoft Ignite is a yearly gathering for developers and IT specialists. In 2023, the conference is scheduled to take place in Seattle from November 14 to 17. Ignite has a long history, dating back to 1993, and originally began as Tech Ed. At the event, Microsoft typically unveils new software products.

Some Apple users previously faced limitations related to macOS media discs and licensing changes, which influenced how macOS could be acquired and used with certain devices.
