In September, JYSK reaches a major milestone by reaching 150 stores in Spain and Portugal. Our goal this year is to open more than 30 new stores and renew nearly 20 existing stores and adapt them to the new concept.
To support this strategic growth, JYSK purchased a 274,000 square meter plot of land in Almenara from the Spanish family group Bertolin, south of Castellón. The international retailer will build a new, modern, state-of-the-art logistics center here to both supply stores and deliver products directly to customers in Spain and Portugal.
“Our new distribution center in Almenara, The next step to further strengthen our logistics structure. Thanks to our continued growth, we need to invest in more logistics capacity so that we can continue to offer our customers our great Nordic offerings,” says Ole Thomsen, Vice President of Logistics at JYSK.
New workplace for 250 employees
The new distribution center will be similar to the one currently planned in the Netherlands and will include two distribution centres. high-rise ships and various loading docks and truck unloading. The high-rise warehouses will have a storage capacity of approximately 150,000 pallets of products. Additionally, solar panels will be placed on the roof to provide energy to the facilities.
Likewise, the property will host the offices of JYSK Spain and Portugal headquarters.
