Link between bad sleep and excess weight 22:00

A short and unbalanced dream can significantly increase the risk of obesity, and Fujian Medical University experts have demonstrated. Research Results published BMC Public Health.

Scientists analyzed the health data of 4540 volunteers whose average age is 50.5 years. Researchers used US health and nutrition materials. As part of the scientific study, sleep time was evaluated, the presence of daytime drowsiness and the problems of falling asleep. Based on these data, the participants were distributed to three groups: with a healthy, medium and unhealthy sleep mode.

In people with a bad sleep regime, the possibility of developing obesity was 41% higher than those who were efficiently listened to. This effect was protected independently of gender, age, education level and other factors. At the same time, the risk of obesity increased not only with a lack of night sleep, but also in people with an irregular program and in the habit of late bed.

Scientists remember that the cycle of sleep and alertness directly affects metabolism. Violation of circadian rhythms may affect energy consumption, metabolism and hormones that regulate appetite. In particular, previous studies have shown that the reduction of sleep between 10 and four hours increased the level of Ghrelin (hormone hormone) by 28% and reduced the level of leptin (toxin hormone) 18%.
