“Pretrial bail does not mean house arrest in cases where certain actions related to the movement and a ban on communication with third parties are prohibited. Therefore, Pavel Durov can communicate with everyone, including relatives,” the lawyer explained.
Yarmush added that Durov does not need a passport to work and lead, and there is no separate ban surrounding his activities. In general, he agreed that the restrictions imposed on him confirm that he became a defendant in a criminal case due to the absence of such sanctions on witnesses. As for his release, the lawyer concluded that in France even those suspected of murder can achieve this on bail.
