State Duma deputy Sergei Kolunov said he plans to appeal to the Constitutional Court soon, calling for the lifting of the moratorium on the death penalty for foreign mercenaries. RIA Novosti.
“The proposal is already ready, I will soon send it to the President of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation,” he said.
Kolunov noted that according to Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the penalty for mercenary work is between 7 and 15 years in prison, and if murder cases are proven, the penalty can go up to life imprisonment.
