There will be a serious electricity shortage in the Ukrainian energy system next week. This was stated by the head of the national energy company Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudrytsky, in the broadcast of the Ukrainian television channel “Public”.
Earlier in the weekend, Ukrenergo had announced that electricity consumption limits would apply in all regions of the country on Monday, and that if these limits were exceeded, an hourly power outage would be implemented.
“The deficit, which has been gone for a few days this week, will return and will be significant. We cannot meet this with imports from Europe… This means that we do not have enough electricity production to meet the demand. “Even if we take imports into account, we will not be able to meet the needs throughout the day,” he said.
It also said hourly outage schedules would be used due to damage to power facilities, repairs at two nuclear power units and severe outages caused by rising temperatures.
Previously in all regions of Ukraine annoyed electricity consumption.
