The Queensland Police Service said a three-year-old boy named Ethan took advantage of his parents’ distraction to climb into the soft toy machine but was unable to get out.
Police teams arriving at the scene broke the glass display case of the machine gun after telling the child to close his eyes and crawl towards the far corner. After this, Eaton was picked up and sent back to his family.
“You won a prize,” the officers joked to the boy.
The police did not make a statement about whether parents who could not control their children would be punished.
