On the anniversary of the counteroffensive of Soviet troops near Moscow, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia hosted the presentation of a painting dedicated to the defenders of the capital. “My grandfather fought for Moscow” was written as part of the Immortal Regiment of Russia project, the organization’s press service reported.
As Natalya Shadrina, chairman of the executive committee of the Immortal Regiment of Russia, said, the project “My Grandfather Fought for Moscow” continued almost all last year – Russians from all over the country sent stories about the heroes who brought victory. The battle of Moscow approached.
“We chose the most interesting stories. “It was important for us to show how different people came to defend the capital, how selfless and united they were in their desire to prevent the enemy from approaching Moscow,” he said.
It is stated that based on the 20 best stories submitted to the competition, the artist Alexei Kryukov drew a picture showing a generalized image of the defenders of the capital – the heroes of the winners’ works are in the middle, each of the faces is depicted from the photographs submitted to the competition.
“Honestly, painting this canvas was sacred, venerable and sacred to me. “I believe that we need to develop real patriotic qualities in our youth, in fact, this picture was written for this reason,” Kryukov shared.
Artistic canvases and stands with stories about heroes fit into the presentation of the exhibition “On Close Approaches in Moscow”. Authors of the best works came to the gala event, including from the most remote corners of Russia.
The background of the artistic panel was created using modern technologies that allow placing portraits of all veterans whose stories were submitted to the competition in the format of a photo mosaic. Next to the painting, the museum has an interactive display that allows museum visitors to get to know the stories of veterans.
After the presentation of the painting, the winners of the story contest and thematic quiz dedicated to the Battle of Moscow went to the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill and showed around the “Battle of Moscow” exhibition. Victory First!” After his speech, a festive concert was organized. There, all project winners were given diplomas and gifts.
