Rospotrebnadzor announced the strengthening of sanitary and quarantine control on flights from Egypt due to an epidemic of unknown disease in an African country.
According to media reports and the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, an unknown case of the disease has been recorded in the province of Qena (600 kilometers south of Cairo). Symptoms of the disease are similar to dengue fever. This is an acute zooanthroponotic (common in humans and animals) arbovirus infectious disease transmitted by the bites of blood-sucking arthropod vectors. It is characterized by the development of intoxication, fever, joint and hemorrhagic syndromes. The disease is common in tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, India, Africa, and North, Central and South America.
