For the first time in Russia, he performed a unique laparoscopic surgery for pancreatic cancer and developed a number of innovative solutions that made it possible to implement minimally traumatic surgeries for various types of abdominal cancer.
The Moscow Science Center explains that Khatkov has performed more than 500 laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenal resections for pancreatic cancer, one of the greatest experiences in terms of the number of these surgeries in the world today.
The emergence of the concept of minimally invasive surgical treatment of oncological diseases made it possible to reduce mortality rates, positively affected the quality of life of patients and enabled a significant portion of them to return to active social and working life.
