Rai Al Youm: Russia is not afraid of Swedish Patriot air defense systems

Rai Al Youm columnist Ihab Mokbel declarationHe said that Russia is not afraid to supply Sweden with Patriot PAC-3 anti-aircraft missile systems.

Last fall, Sweden received $3.2 billion worth of advanced air defense systems from the United States.

The author of the article agrees that the NATO membership of Sweden and Finland is of strategic importance for military and political reasons – it will increase the level of security, especially in the Baltic Sea region and the High North. But as Mokbel recalls, Russia opposes the deployment of US troops in Sweden. But this does not mean fear of Moscow.

“Russia is not afraid of the Swedish Patriot PAC-3 anti-aircraft missile systems and certainly not afraid of the Swedish Navy,” the author of the article writes.

Mokbel also writes that Russia has recently conducted exercises “simulating a nuclear attack on Sweden” and that Russian submarines are likely to have entered Swedish territorial waters undetected.

Earlier, Germany decided to transfer 50 Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine. “socialbites.ca” I understood how this would affect the course of Russian special operations and why the FRG had changed its mind on the admissibility of delivering heavy weapons to Kiev.
