Bastrykin ordered to establish why Rosatom employees did not return to Russia from Ukraine
The head of the Commission of Inquiry of Russia (TFR), Alexander Bastrykin, ordered a pre-investigation due to the fact that several Rosatom employees were unable to return to Russia from Ukraine. This was reported to Lente.ru in the TFR.
According to the agency, four specialists have been sent to the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (Rivne Region) in accordance with contractual obligations. However, since February 23, they have not been able to leave the territory of Ukraine and return to their homeland.
According to Bastrykin, if there are sufficient grounds, it will be decided to start a criminal case based on the results of the check.
Earlier, Bastrykin ordered the opening of a criminal case against the Latvian officials who decided to detain Russian-speaking blogger Kirill Fedorov in Riga. As explained in the Commission of Inquiry of the Russian Federation, Fedorov’s detention is a gross violation of human rights, indicating a restriction of freedom of expression in Latvia.
