The skin is often an indicator that abnormal processes are taking place in the body. So, frequent rashes in the T-zone can indicate problems with the digestive tract, on the cheeks, and on the chin – hormonal disruptions and disorders in the intestines. This was told socialbites.ca by Dmitry Urman, a dermatocosmetologist and a member of the Russian Association of Dermatovenereologists and Cosmetologists. He explained what facial redness might indicate.
According to the expert, rashes that often appear on the forehead in most cases appear due to poor hygiene or improperly chosen means for cleaning the scalp.
“Rashes in the T-zone – forehead, nose and chin – are characteristic of malfunctions in the digestive tract. In this case, you should pay attention to the food, and also consult a doctor to rule out diseases of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and intestines and conduct a clinical blood test. The fact is that with frequent rashes in this area, an increase, for example, in reference indicators of liver enzymes (AST and ALT), as well as manifested genetic diseases, is possible, ”said Dr.
Temporal rashes are usually nothing special to worry about, but such symptoms can indicate dehydration, so it’s important to establish a proper drinking regimen in this situation. Normalization of the latter usually quickly removes redness.
“Small pimples on the temples can also appear on oily skin, so you should choose the right facial care products. Important: indicators of dehydration and oiliness of the skin are two completely different signs, so even with oily skin phenotype, it can become dehydrated, ”explained Dmitry Urman.
He noted that rashes on the cheeks and chin are mostly characteristic of functional disruption of the intestines, but can also be the cause of hormonal disruptions. Especially acute rashes in these areas occur during puberty in adolescents and during the menstrual cycle in women.
“Moreover, with rashes in these areas, the body can signal low physical activity, abuse of low-quality food and bad habits, enzyme deficiency and disturbed intestinal microflora,” said the cosmetologist.
The doctor added that rashes that appear in the orbit and perioral region can be caused by an allergic reaction to food, decorative cosmetics, improper hygiene, and can also occur when the endocrine system is disturbed.
Formerly a dermatologist announcedwhat diseases can change the color of the skin.
