In True Stalker, the player controls a free stalker named Topor who returns to the Zone from the mainland. When the guide and the protagonist arrive, soldiers at a checkpoint spot them, but the duo manages to break away from their pursuers.
Chapter 1: Arrival
Upon waking, the player should examine the table and grab the food. Interact with Sidorovich to complete the initial task New Sortie. Before tackling that, it is wise to explore nearby buildings to gather useful items, including the Ax stash. If the player climbs onto the roof of the adjacent building, cartridges can be found there, either in boxes or scattered on the ground.
Storage space (side)
Leave Sidorovich’s bunker, take a left, and locate a lone building. Ascend the stairs and retrieve the main character’s stash in the far corner. This grants a detector, enabling the first artifact to be picked up during the active quest.
New sortie (main)
Head to the tunnel filled with anomalies. Use bolts along the route to avoid drifting effects. Examine the corpse in the tunnel and take the PDA. At that moment, a real stalker appears and asks not to be handed over to Sidorovich. Do not rush back. After gathering supplies, grab the detector and enter the tunnel to locate the artifact.
Return to Sidorovich and decide how to handle the stalker. The guide chooses not to reveal his plan. From this point, complete the merchant’s quests to uncover artifacts so that a good Bear detector is earned, and the player can sell the old one along with the found artifact.
Small jobs (additional)
Ask Sidorovich about the laptop. He sends the player to Michalych to retrieve the device. Michalych is in a nearby house. Completing this simple quest yields 300 rubles and additional loot.
Artifacts for the merchant (main)
This quest requires investigating three anomalies and gathering all available artifacts. The detector provided by the merchant is used, but it must be returned at the end of the task.
First anomaly (radioactive swamp)
This location is highly dangerous due to numerous anomalies. The first two artifacts can be collected near a concrete structure by maneuvering around the anomaly.
The final artifact floats in the water. The player can either bypass the anomaly or circle the left side of the location and enter the water.
Second anomaly (anomalous tunnel)
On the way to the second anomaly, explore the elevator and the ATP territory. Bandits occupy the latter, so a double-barreled shotgun can eliminate them with a single effective hit. Loot gathered here can be sold to fund more essential gear.
If the marker is followed, there is a tunnel similar to the first artifact location. Find a safe route with bolts and grab two artifacts.
Emerging from the tunnel, the hero faces an attack by a lone bandit named Shnyra. Refuse to surrender the items, and defeat him.
On the right side of the road, the Nizhny Khutor anomaly sits among small teleports. Artifacts here appear on the ground, and the floating islands are not worth exploring beyond patterns found there.
Third Anomaly (Inferno)
The final anomaly lies in another map area, requiring a crossing either through a checkpoint or an anomalous tunnel. The guide suggests clearing the army stockpile at the outpost, then either stockpiling Kalash cartridges or earning money. Crossing the track to the right of the outpost is another viable route via a hole in the fence.
Beyond the farm, looting a corpse in the second building triggers the additional task Dead in the Anomaly.
After reaching the anomaly, two artifacts are found before returning to Sidorovich. He will take back the detector, and the funds earned are used to purchase a replacement.
Deaths in the anomaly (collateral)
A suggested route back to Sidorovich is to cross the bridge where the soldiers who pursued the hero previously died. The sergeant may possess a walkie-talkie that serves as a quest item later on.
Old acquaintances. Where to find dynamite?
After speaking with Sidorovich, return to the village to meet a stalker named Fan. He assigns another task: locate dynamite hidden by the Wolf near the ATP and blow up the dog hole.
On the way to the dynamite, a military patrol will likely appear. It can be a single guard or a group. Proceed with caution. At the marked location, head to the second carriage to obtain the dynamite.
After completing this, the next quest Lair of Mutants begins.
Mutant lair (head)
Move to the map marker while friends battle a pack of dogs. Enter the cave, plant explosives, and avoid further exploration since the cave holds no valuables.
As a reward, the player earns 900 rubles and a damaged Ksyusha with body kits. The option to relocate to the stalker village and visit the technician to complete a fresh story mission is available.
First machine (main)
Speak with Mikhalych and deliver the machine gun, which triggers another story quest titled Strange Glows.
Strange glow (head)
Wait for nightfall, either in the initial basement or Sidorovich’s bunker. At midnight, proceed to the nearest anomaly.
Three poltergeists appear. Decide whether to kill them or return to the village. If the goal is to remove the monsters, shoot toward the center of the white glow. Upon return, inform Michalych about what happened. He will consent to repair the cannon.
Nothing changes (basic)
Leaving the building, Yurok invites the player to join the stalkers by the fire. The next morning, Michalych reports that repairs are complete. The remaining steps involve selecting a new weapon and pursuing additional tasks for tool discovery.
