A new travel simulation title from Russia has arrived on Steam Early Access, and it currently ships with a launch discount. The sandbox experience is called Russian Train Trip 2. The first installment appeared in 2021 and drew a mix of opinions from players and critics alike, setting expectations for a fresh chapter in the series.
The developers describe a journey that invites fans to visit the stations of several major cities, among them:
- Moscow (Yaroslavskaya)
- Yekaterinburg
- Tyumen
- Krasnoyarsk
- Irkutsk
- Ulan-Ude
- Khabarovsk
- Vladivostok
Beyond the central hubs, players can pause at smaller stations along the routes, enjoying the sense of a real, sprawling rail network.
According to the game description, in the second chapter players will undertake a long passenger journey to Vladivostok aboard a corridor-style compartment coach. The player is encouraged to look out the window, listen to the radio, and move freely within the car during the voyage, promising an engaging, immersive travel experience.
As with many Early Access titles, not all content is present at launch. Reviewers note that several features are still in development, including the ability to power on the radio from the passenger compartment, sit comfortably, and lie down. These capabilities are expected to arrive via future updates as the game matures.
On Steam, Russian Train Trip 2 is offered at 211 rubles, with a temporary 12% discount valid until March 14. Community content and modding communities have already begun to explore variations of the experience, although some changes mentioned in forums are unrelated to core gameplay and are not officially endorsed by the developers.
Note: The information above reflects the current state of the title as it exists on Steam and in early iterations of user feedback.
