Quantic Lab is again under scrutiny for its role in the troubled launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Reports reaching PC Gamer from multiple employees allege that company leadership exerted significant pressure on testers and presented misleading information to CD Projekt RED.

The claims state that the firm not only downplayed the size and scope of its testing team but also exaggerated its capacity. CD Projekt had reached out to RED Quantic Lab on several occasions because test quality did not meet expectations, according to the sources.

The outlines suggest the testing squad began with about 30 workers. A source clarifies that around two thirds of that group lacked real QA experience, while the remaining members carried only a year of practical testing work. To hit daily targets, the team reportedly focused on graphics issues, overlooking gameplay problems that should have been captured in testing.

Quantic Lab reportedly expanded its workload with additional projects yet did not increase the number of testers. In some cases, a single supervisor oversaw multiple projects. The firm has consistently denied the allegations. Whether any legal action will follow remains unclear. The situation has kept industry watchers attentive as other headlines skirt around similar concerns in the wider gaming sector.
