An enthusiastic creator going by Progman Game is developing his own 3D remaster of Battletoads and Double Dragon. The project has been in progress for several months, and during this time the creator has already released three videos showcasing progress and milestones of the development work.
The creator aims to replicate all the elements from the original NES release, including the controls, animations, and other core features.
“Controls, movements, timing, speed… every detail down to the smallest aspect. It isn’t just a game about toads; it’s about delivering the exact experience that appeared on the Dendy when I was growing up. When someone grabs the joystick, the game should feel and behave exactly the same as it did on Dendy, so nostalgia drives the experience.” the developer explained.
In the videos, viewers can see early gameplay from the opening level, plus a variety of animations, 3D models, and visual effects that are in development.
Fans have responded with enthusiasm, eagerly awaiting a formal release and hoping to see the project reach completion soon.
