Since the release of update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion, Night City has welcomed a slew of new weapons. Players will encounter both firearms and high-tech blades designed for lethal close-quarters combat. This guide outlines where to find unique and legendary weapons in Cyberpunk 2077.

Iconic and legendary items in Cyberpunk 2077

It’s not possible to name a single weapon as the ultimate in Cyberpunk 2077. Much depends on playstyle and the implants a player has installed. This article highlights the most interesting representatives across different classes, from knives and swords to long-range sniper rifles. If Phantom Liberty is in brackets, that weapon is exclusive to Dog City. Players who have not purchased the expansion will not be able to obtain it there.

New features of iconic weapons from the original Cyberpunk 2077

In update 2.0, several weapons gained fresh abilities. The complete list includes:

  • Comrade’s Hammer – features an explosive cartridge in the clip that delivers massive damage. It can be charged with a successful melee strike, which is especially useful since standard magazine changes take time.
  • Archangel – fires as fast as a submachine gun, deals 200% extra damage on headshots, has a 25% armor-penetration chance, and a 20% chance to cause shock. A few precise shots can drop an enemy quickly.
  • Ba Xinchun – is now a rocket launcher with explosive shells and high damage output.
  • La Chingona Dorada – each successful hit replenishes ammo in the clip. Landing headshots increases burn chance and boosts critical damage.
  • The Fading of the Night – shots fired while moving deal more damage and can shock enemies. It has enhanced damage while on the move and can cause electric shocks in close combat, with a blunt-hit effect too.
  • Satoria – adds a high chance of bleeding in addition to standard bonuses for this weapon.

Steel arms

Katanas, swords, clubs, and knives excel at close quarters. Cyberpunk 2077 rewards situational use, especially when melee perks weaken foes, ignite them, or induce bleeding.

Mes Nihan (Cyberpunk 2077 2.0)

  • Oddities: causes bleeding and restores the main character’s health as the enemy’s vitality declines.
  • How to obtain: during the mission “Pass to the Major League,” search the corpse of Saburo Arasaka. A separate guide covers Cyberpunk 2077’s main missions in detail.

Errata’s Thermal Katana (Cyberpunk 2077 2.0)

  • Oddities: 25% armor penetration and a 30% burn chance. If the enemy is set on fire, all subsequent attacks become critical. It also enables long-range dashes at enemies, reminiscent of the trailer.

    Baton Murphy’s Law (Phantom Liberty)

    • Oddities: 50% armor penetration, 20% bleeding, stunning, or shock. Attacking enemies knocked down increases attack speed.

    Agau Bijl (Phantom Liberty)

    • Oddity: Critical attacks emit electrical waves that can strike multiple enemies at once.

    Pistols and revolvers

Pistols serve as secondary weapons at short to medium ranges. A few quick shots with a revolver can feel more effective than an early reload, though upgrades can turn any pistol into a primary choice in a firefight.

    Revolver Gris-Gris (Phantom Liberty)

    • Oddities: 150% headshot damage and 50% armor penetration. When fully charged, it fires multiple shots and can hack enemies with viruses. Effectiveness scales with hacking skills.
    • How to obtain: at the start of the mission “The Damned,” find a skull-shaped graffiti door in the facility and check the suitcase contents inside.

      Energy Pistol Majesty (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 150% headshot damage. Built-in silencer. When optical camouflage is active, accuracy is perfect, damage rises, and headshots are guaranteed.
      • How to obtain: during the Get It Together mission, stand near the armory under the Moth bar. The weapon is inside a weapons box.

Energy revolver Bald Eagle (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 150% headshot bonus, 75% armor penetration, fires explosive rounds.
      • How to obtain: in the Firestarter mission, assisting Reed to capture Songbird and then eliminating Colonel Hansen. The revolver can be found on his corpse.

Energy submachine gun Erebus (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 100% extra headshot damage, 25% armor penetration. Shots become more effective when enemies have low health.
      • How to obtain: during the mission Somewhat Damaged and This Corrosion, hack terminals, reach the cafeteria, and access the maintenance room. The door opens with electricity, the panel is in a nearby warehouse, and crafting materials come from completing the quest This Corrosion.

      Pistol of Ambition (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 150% more head damage, a chance to blind on hit. If successful, subsequent shots are even more effective.
      • How to obtain: complete the side task Go Your Own Way.

      Pistol Rogue (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 150% headshot bonus, 50% armor penetration, charged shots deal triple damage.
      • How to obtain: in the Firestarter mission, assist Songbird to escape and prevail over any opposition, then search the defeated foe’s corpse.

      Energy pistol Cheetah (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: Increased damage on body hits.
      • How to obtain: kill and search Angie’s body during the No Easy Exit side mission.

      Roscoe’s energy revolver (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 150% headshot bonus, 25% armor penetration, critically hitting heads of downed foes yields extra damage. A headshot on a knocked-down enemy is always a critical hit. Legs or a baton can help take down tough opponents.
      • How to obtain: during the Waiting For Dodger mission, kill a target and seize the revolver from the corpse.

      Smart pistol Ogou (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 50% main hit bonus, 25% armor penetration, critical shots deal 50% more damage. Each shot has a high chance to cause disfigurement, which can massively boost subsequent critical damage and bleeding.

      Manchenella Energy Revolver (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 200% head damage bonus, 25% armor penetration, a head hit can cause a poisoning effect. At the start of a fight, opponents are briefly unseen.
      • How to obtain: begin the Run This Town quest after completing Firestarter. Mr. Hands hands over the revolver at the start of the mission.

      Smart weapon that stops criminals

      • Oddities: hits to cyber limbs can disable them, immobilizing the target and increasing the chance of a critical strike.
      • How to obtain: enter the VIP room on the top floor of the Heavy Hearts club, in the local prosecutor’s area.

      Shotguns

Shotguns excel in tight corridors and at close range. Pellets are hard to dodge in confined spaces, making them effective against groups. At longer ranges, their usefulness drops, so they should be paired with a reliable sniper as a secondary option.

      Energy rifle Alabai (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 85% bonus damage on successful headshots, 25% armor penetration, 10% burn chance. Burned enemies suffer critical hits consistently.
      • How to obtain: complete the mission Airdrop.

      • How to obtain: during the Lucretia My Reflection mission, wait for the team to leave the hideout and return; the gun will be near the wall.

Energy machine gun Wild Dog (Phantom Liberty)

      • Oddities: 85% bonus headbutt damage, 25% armor penetration. Repeatedly striking the same body part raises the fire rate and increases the chance of a critical hit, delivering massive close-range damage.
      • How to obtain: during the Firestarter mission, assist Reed to capture Songbird and then take the weapon from Colonel Hansen’s corpse.
