Unlike games like Genshin Impact and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, Tower of Fantasy lets players modify the main character’s skin and overall appearance. Options available include:

  1. Skin or suit
  2. Suit color
  3. Hairstyle and accessories
  4. Face details such as eyes, lips, nose and eyebrows

Toward Unlocking Character Customization

Access begins after a bit of story progression. A hero is chosen, and the player breaks away from a cave monster to start the process.

Players encounter several enemies, inspect two chests, and reach a bridge. After a lengthy cutscene, a tent scene introduces a small quest task.

Speaking with the hideout leader Zeke is the next step, then picking up a sword in the street and returning to the tent. Shirley is then met, leading to a nearby complex. A video about a bike plays, and Celine invites the player to customize the hero’s look.

How to Change Skin, Hair, Face, and Other Parameters

After finishing the previous steps, the character drawing editor opens. It features four main tabs with several subcategories.

  1. Standard – choose from five preset looks without fine tuning.
  2. Appearance – pick a skin and set the suit color.
  3. Haircut – select a preset or customize the hairstyle.
  4. Facial features – refine the face in detail, covered further below.

Hair Styling

To pick a preset, use the Presets button and choose one. You will see tabs for Amended, Front side, middle and Back to refine the hairstyle further.

Under the hairstyle options, a row of accessories appears. Select an item or remove it with the N / A option.

Colors can also be changed. Several variations exist, and gradients can be created by combining options: top color, real color, and hue.

  1. Top Color – the upper part of the hair
  2. Real Color – the lower part of the hair
  3. Hue – the shade

Facial adjustment

The facial section allows tweaking cheekbones, eyes, nose, mouth, and makeup such as tattoos. Completed presets remain visible at the top right of the screen.

Notes show that eye color and shape can be adjusted separately or together, with options to modify eye socket color, size, and pupil size. Such combinations may yield unconventional looks, as illustrated in the accompanying screenshot.

Can the Hero’s Appearance Be Changed Mid-Game and How to Buy Skins

Returning to customization requires completing several story missions. Players should follow Shirley from the hideout until a quest resets, then visit the Astra Omium Tower and speak to the robot Scrapper.

Scrapper guides the hero to a small fortress across the river where victory over various foes unlocks all game features.

To adjust display settings, press B to open inventory, then select the Clothing button beside the active hero. The customization menu appears on the right for purchasing or changing a costume, while the left side allows fine tuning of the hero’s parameters described above. Each skin unlocks with a special Tanium crystal. Right now, costumes cost 1280 Tan crystals each.

There is also a refit option to customize the jetpack look. Only two jetpack styles are currently offered in Tower of Fantasy.

Note that the first design of the appearance carries a fee. For each subsequent change, a 100 crystal charge applies, paid with Dark Crystals.

Loading Customizations from Other Players and Importing Personal Designs

Players can upload their own looks to the public lobby, share directly, or borrow others’ designs.

To share, open the outfits menu and note the four icons to the hero’s right:

Part – share a hero image or save it to the device.

Lobby – share presets with others and download available user settings. Use the My Preferences tab to share, and the preset may gain popularity in the Popularity Vote.

Import – enter the user UID to copy their hero appearance settings.

Reset – reset customization settings.
