Update 3.0 added new resources and tools to Genshin Impact, including the Dendroculus Echo Stone. This guide explains its purpose and how to obtain it.
What is the Dendroculus Echo Stone used for
Activating this tool reveals the locations of nearby dendrocules. These particles contribute to raising the images associated with the Dendro Archon and mark their positions on the map for easier navigation.
In exchange for dendrocules, players can earn rewards such as Source Stones, Adventure Experience, Sumeru Shrine Keys, Lush Flora Memory, and Seal Dendro, which are required to level up the Dream Tree.
Similar mechanics exist in other regions. For example, in Mondstadt players collected anemocules.
How to get Dendroculus Echo Stone and raise Sumeru reputation
To craft this tool, a player must meet several requirements:
- Reach Adventure Rank 35.
- Open the Sumeru region on the map.
- Complete the tasks Through Smoke and Dark Woods, One Hundred Fresh Roses Brings the Morning, and Recruit to the Brigade of Thirty.
- Find Effendi and speak with him.
- Reach Reputation Level 8 in Sumeru.
The location of Effendi is shown on the map.
This character oversees reputation in the region and can be engaged in several ways to boost standing.
- Explore the region by opening teleports, visiting statues of the Dendro Archons, entering dungeons and shrines, and searching chests.
- Progress through world quests and related errands.
- Complete weekly monster orders. Up to three orders can be taken per week, granting 60 to 100 reputation points each.
- Assist residents found across Sumeru.
- Finish daily tasks. To unlock them, complete Morning Brings One Hundred Fresh Roses Finale and Adventure Takes Courage missions, with the second quest offered by Katerina in Sumeru City.
All activities must be conducted within Sumeru.
At reputation level 1, progress comes from exploration and world missions. Killing monsters and helping civilians unlock at level 2.
Rewards for reputation increments include various items and cosmetics at each level, culminating in a special Dendroculus Echo Stone depiction at level 8 and other unique tools as players advance.
Purchasing the Dendro Treasure Compass is highly recommended as it helps locate chests more easily. Other tools offer limited benefits; ultra-high temperature burner prototypes improve food processing at the cost of ore, while Great Wood Blessing simplifies wood collection. Culinary items like Buttered Chicken, Tahchin, and Biryani provide temporary stat boosts or effects, while many other tools are decorative.
The focus remains on the Dendroculus Echo Stone. Upon reaching reputation level 8 in Sumeru, players can open the alchemy workbench to obtain a corresponding drawing.
Crafting requires these resources: Mora 500, Crystal Fragment 1, Lotus Nilotpala 1, and Rukkhashava Mushroom 1.
Crystal Fragments are scattered across Teyvat in the open world. The Nilotpala Lotus grows only in Sumeru. Rukkhashava mushrooms can be found in this region as well.
How to use the Dendroculus Echo Stone
- Open the Tools tab and equip the Dendroculus Echo Stone.
- Travel to a location where dendrocules might be found.
- Activate the Echo Stone from the lower left corner of the screen.
- The map highlights the general area of nearby dendrocules; follow it to the exact location.
- A small arrow on the minimap points toward the nearest dendroculus. When you approach closely enough, the arrow vanishes and an asterisk marks the exact spot on the map.
If the Echo Stone detects dendrocules while the stone is active, the device becomes exhausted and must be rebuilt at the alchemy table. If no dendrocules are nearby, the Echo Stone can be reused later.
For more dendroculus locations, a separate guide provides a full map and directions.
