During update 4.8 for Genshin Impact, players encounter a sequence of Constellation Capital challenges. These battles pit teams against a variety of monsters, with special power-ups becoming available to enhance character performance. This guide explains how to access the Constellation Capital arenas and maximize the score achievable in each session.

How to Unlock the Constellation Capital Challenge Series

The journey begins by entering the new Simulanka region. To unlock it, three requirements must be fulfilled:

  • Reach adventure rank 18;
  • Complete the Archon quest “Prologue: Act III. Song of Dragon Freedom”;
  • Finish the quest named ‘The story begins in a forest where no rain falls’.

Note that all temporary activities of Update 4.8 run from July 19 to August 24, 2024.

After arriving in Simulanka, players should complete the Owl Musician quest. They should visit the Constellation Capital and speak with the guard Alof, who explains the arena rules and invites participation. As a bonus, participants earn 4 adventure experience points and 10,000 mora.

Basic Rules for Testing the Constellation Capital

The event centers on courage points earned by defeating monsters. Collecting six or more courage points unlocks special power-ups that greatly ease battles. These power-ups stay active while the Time of Courage lasts, enabling players to achieve high ratings and lucrative rewards at the end of each bout.

Before combat begins, two squads of fighters are formed. It is best if characters are not duplicated between squads. Each unique hero grants one courage point, which opens the door to an extra starting bonus. Reinforcement options are tailored to each arena.

First Test. Sharpened Vanguard

Players should speak with the hunter and enter the dungeon. It helps to first skim the enemy list and the power-ups that unlock once courage points are earned. In this phase, a basic skill boost of 20–50% is available. If the character isn’t on the battlefield, that bonus can rise by another 20–50%.

With this mechanic in mind, it becomes important to choose fighters whose elemental skills can trigger even when off the field. Examples include Fischl, Furina, Chiori, and Yae Miko.

In the first stage, waves of weaker foes appear. Area-clearing abilities will shine, so team selection should reflect this. A Hydro + Dendro or Electro + Hydro reaction synergy often proves effective.

In the second phase, opponents with Geo shields arrive. The most efficient counters are Geo-focused hunters wielding two-handed swords such as Itto, Navia, and Noelle. Damage can be increased with the help of Zhong Li, Goro, Albedo, and Tiori.

Rewards include Source Stones, upgrade materials for characters, and Astro Coins. Astro Coins serve as a special event currency that expires after August 24. During Update 4.8, valuable rewards are obtainable, including the Crown of Contempt and Kirara as a character.

Guides will be updated as new challenges become available.
