Social Bites talks about social media and messaging apps: what their features really do, what happens when a platform gets an update, and how two apps that seem alike are totally different from one another once you move beyond their marketing pages. We are not paid by anyone for a particular coverage of any of these platforms, and we have no affiliation with any of them either.
Our community is small, and we like it just like that — purposefully rather than necessarily. Rather than commit ourselves to publishing daily coverage of everything going on, we would prefer doing it less often but right — comparing with the information from the platform’s official help center or changelog.
Here are a few absolutes no matter how big this becomes. All guides will be dated, and in the case of updates on the platform, the change will be visible on the page as an update, not a quiet revision. And in the case where the article is written by us based on opinion, as opposed to something that has been formally documented (“why has this app changed recently”), we make it known.
If anything is inaccurate or outdated, let us know. This is often more efficient than waiting for us to discover it ourselves, and is how this website improves.
