As winter approaches, Xiaomi unveiled a new accessory designed to keep people warm while they move about outdoors. The device is referred to as Smart Heating, a scarf-like wearable that brings warmth to the neck and upper chest area through an integrated heating system.
The design centers on a collar that encircles the neck and secures to the chest with a discreet rivet. Inside the fabric, a DuPont thermal insulation filler provides warmth retention, while a carbon nanotube film serves as the heating element. This combination aims to deliver steady warmth without adding bulk, making it practical for daily errands, commutes, or outdoor activities in chillier conditions.
Smart Heating offers three temperature settings to adapt to varying outdoor temperatures and personal comfort preferences: 38, 45, and 50 degrees Celsius. The device powers up quickly and reaches one of these target temperatures roughly three seconds after activation, allowing users to quickly adjust to changing weather or activity levels.
Built-in safety features address common concerns with wearable heaters. The heating elements include safeguards to prevent overheating and short circuits, and there is an emergency shutdown mode designed to activate if any abnormal condition is detected. These protections are meant to provide peace of mind during prolonged use in outdoor environments.
At present, the Smart Heating scarf is marketed primarily to the Chinese consumer market. Xiaomi has listed a suggested retail price of 149 yuan, positioning it as an accessible option for those seeking portable warmth in cold seasons.
In related coverage, it was noted that Xiaomi had previously introduced a universal button concept intended to transform ordinary home devices into smart devices. This broader trend reflects the company’s interest in expanding smart technology across both wearables and household electronics, highlighting a broader strategy to enrich everyday experiences with intelligent cooling and heating solutions.
