In the ranking of top video game schools in Spain, ESAT secured the number one spot for workforce contribution, underscoring its strong track record in helping graduates enter the video game industry. The school also earned fourth place in the prestigious European rankings, a testament to its sustained excellence and recognition across the continent.

One distinctive feature of ESAT is its clear focus on video game programming, art, and design. The institution has long been a pioneer in delivering comprehensive education in these areas, equipping students with state-of-the-art technical know-how and creative prowess in video game development.

Globally, ESAT sits at a prominent seventh position, reaffirming its status as a leading institution for anyone aiming to launch a career in video games and digital media. This global standing reflects a broad commitment to preparing graduates for the fast-paced demands of the industry.

These rankings result from an in-depth analysis of graduates’ career paths and an assessment of the video game projects produced during studies. Projects are evaluated on criteria such as completion level, visual quality, game mechanics, originality, and the emotional impact they generate. Performance in renowned industry contests like the Unity Awards and the IGF Awards also informs the evaluation.

In the 2022 edition of the GDWC Game Development World Championship, held in Tallinn in April 2023, ESAT projects achieved top placements, capturing the number-one spot in two categories, HOBBY (jury) and HOBBY FAN CHOICE (public decision). This selection drew from more than 3,500 projects representing 145 countries.

“Inside ESAT,” the institution states, “we are proud to lead the world ranking of Video Game Schools in 2023.” The school notes that its emphasis on Video Game Programming, Art, and Design since 2008 has produced highly trained professionals and contributed to the industry’s growth. ESAT remains committed to delivering a high-quality education that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities this dynamic field offers.

ESAT stands out for its balanced approach to the video game market and industry. This strategy has helped train professionals who are in high demand, while also fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students by providing broad training in both hard skills and soft skills.

ESAT welcomes students from more than 20 countries and maintains partnerships with more than 350 international universities, through which graduates receive honors and recognition for their work.
