Elon Musk, the chief executive behind Tesla and SpaceX, commented humorously on Google’s announcement of a new feature for storing and editing photos in Google Photos. The remark appeared on Twitter.
Google revealed that the Photos app on Android and iOS now includes a Magic Eraser tool that can remove people who accidentally appear in a shot from pictures.
Using a beach scene as an illustration, the feature reportedly erased several adults and children so that only the girl looking toward the horizon remained in the frame.
In response, Musk uploaded two images. The first shows Joseph Stalin and his associates Molotov, Voroshilov, and Yezhov walking along a waterfront. The second photo, taken at the same moment and place, excludes the NKVD chief Nikolai Yezhov. The image is believed to have been retouched. Musk summed up the moment by saying Stalin would have appreciated this feature.
