Studio Mundfish has shared a teaser for Atomic Heart’s second story expansion, promising a winter release window.
The teaser highlights an alternate realm called Limbo embedded within the core narrative. It showcases new mechanics inspired by high-speed obstacle courses, including jumping and dodging obstacles reminiscent of popular arcade runners. Players can expect unfamiliar gameplay rhythms and a fresh set of weapons designed for this surreal journey.
What currently remains clear is that the DLC will focus on the protagonist’s descent into Limbo and will pick up the narrative threads after the events of the base game. The official title for the second expansion has not been revealed, but the scope centers on expanding the hero’s ongoing odyssey through this otherworldly dimension.
The developers have confirmed a winter release for the story addition, though a concrete date has not been disclosed.
Atomic Heart is a single-player, first-person action adventure set in an alternate version of the USSR during the 1950s. The game arrived in February 2023 and drew positive feedback from critics and players alike. The project is developed by Mundfish, a studio with Russian and Cypriot roots established in 2017.
Earlier, a Steam Deck feature elevated the title to surpass Counter-Strike 2 in revenue on the Steam charts, underscoring its strong commercial performance and appeal to a devoted fan base.
