Aeroskrip unveils Nebosvod drone data link protocols at Transport Week 2023

Scientific Research Center Aeroskrip, which has joined the national technology initiative Aeronet, has unveiled a system that links aerial drones to domestic services for gathering data on Nebosvod UAV flights. This development was reported by TASS in a formal announcement issued during Transport Week 2023, the forum and exhibition that highlighted advances in transportation and logistics.

Aeroscript researchers have authored a set of protocols enabling drones to connect with the Nebosvod framework without the need to install extra modules such as transponders on the aircraft. The protocols operate effectively when drones stay within radio range and when a command and control channel exists between the UAV and the ground control station, ensuring continuous data exchange and oversight.

According to Aeroscript, the firm also maintains separate solutions designed for autonomous flight scenarios. The newly proposed protocols allow seamless sharing of flight data between drones and ground stations, including meteorological, aeronautical, and geospatial information. This exchange of weather and flight-related data is expected to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency in drone operations across various sectors. The system is presented as a robust bridge between unmanned platforms and ground infrastructure, facilitating improved situational awareness and operation planning for airspace stakeholders. A broader adoption could support safer drone activity in complex environments and streamline coordination with aviation authorities.

In related developments, Russia previously announced progress in other sectors, including educational innovations such as next generation lamps intended for school children, reflecting a broader push toward modernization across technology and education sectors. These initiatives collectively illustrate the push to enhance data-driven capabilities in aerospace, public safety, and regional infrastructure across the country and beyond, including potential implications for Canada and the United States as cross-border collaboration and standardization evolve.
