Juana Stella, a rising player from El Campello, has earned a call-up to the senior rugby squad. Rugby Turia is expanding its presence in Madrid as preparations ramp up for the World Seven tournament in Dubai, slated for the first weekend of December. The team from Alicante recently claimed second place in Europe in the under-18 category, after a tense final against France in Prague last year.

Juana Stella’s ascent in the sport was clear when she debuted with Leonas VII last October, during a international tournament hosted in Elche. The Spanish team secured a runner-up finish, defeating Poland in the decisive match.

Former Alicante Rugby Club standout Juana Stella was called up to the senior squad in Madrid during late October. She then joined a series of friendly fixtures in Malaga, competing against Great Britain and Hong Kong. The team returned to Madrid this past week, where she awaits selection for the final training phase in Malaga ahead of the Dubai international tournament.

At just 17, Juana Stella balances a budding club career in the Honor League B with rigorous academic commitments and aims to continue contributing to the national team’s growth on the world stage.
