The upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil 9 is currently in development. According to an insider AestheticActorDusk Golem, also known as Dusk Golem, will feature an open world for the first time in the series.
The developers of the Capcom studio have not yet announced the next part of the Resident Evil series, but according to insider information, a new game is already in development. According to AestheticGamer, Capcom has a practice of approving new projects in groups of three, as evidenced by the approvals of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, and Devil May Cry 5.
The recently released fantasy action RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2, also powered by the RE Engine, introduced an open world for players to explore. The same engine also powers two upcoming Capcom projects: fantasy hunting action game Monster Hunter Wilds and the as-yet-unannounced Resident Evil 9.
AestheticGamer claims that despite the innovations, each game will retain its unique identity. He also stated that Capcom could deliver Resident Evil 9 in 2024 and release the game in 2025.
