Taiwanese electronics manufacturer MSI has introduced the Claw portable gaming PC, a direct rival to Valve’s Steam Deck. In this respect reports The Verge’s edition. The announcement of the device took place at the CES 2024 technology fair in Las Vegas.
The Claw is powered by next-generation Intel Meteor Lake Core Ultra processors announced in December 2023. MSI plans to release three versions of the device with different chips at prices ranging from $ 699 (about 63.5 thousand rubles at the exchange rate of January 9, 2024) to $ 799 (about 72.6 thousand rubles). It is known that the young model will receive Core Ultra 5 and 512 GB internal memory. Its launch will take place in the first half of this year.
Externally, MSI Claw is very similar to Steam Deck, that is, it is a touchscreen tablet with controllers on the sides. A special feature of the MSI device is that it supports Intel XeSS upscaling technology, which, according to the manufacturer, allows the new product to run AAA games without any problems. Claw also has the largest battery among computers in this format, with a capacity of 53 Wh.
The Claw has a seven-inch IPS display with up to 120Hz, 1080p resolution and up to 500 nits peak brightness. As The Verge writes, a similar matrix is used in the Asus ROG Ally.
