Several Chinese media outlets have published early benchmarks of the MSI Claw portable console and pitted it against the Asus ROG Ally, with coverage highlighted by Videocardz.

The published tests used a base MSI Claw configuration featuring the Intel Core Ultra 135H, a chip that trails the more expensive Core Ultra 7 155H in raw power. In the same round of comparisons, the Claw faced the Asus ROG Ally powered by AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme. The results show the ROG Ally leading in gaming performance and in power efficiency across the tested scenarios. Notably, the MSI Claw is rated with a peak TDP of 40 W, while the ROG Ally sits at a 30 W peak, a gap that influences sustained performance and thermal behavior.

In Cyberpunk 2077, the ROG Ally delivered around 59.8 FPS on average, whereas the MSI Claw posted about 44.8 FPS. For Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the ROG Ally ranged from 42 to 53 FPS, while the MSI Claw fluctuated between 24 and 49 FPS depending on the chosen TDP setting. In Red Dead Redemption, the Asus device averaged 60.2 FPS compared with 49.2 FPS on the MSI model.

Despite these findings, observers note that the MSI Claw is not yet on sale, making it premature to draw final conclusions. There is room for optimization through driver updates and hardware tuning as development continues ahead of release. The plan calls for MSI Claw to debut in the spring, with a starting price near $699 (roughly 64.6 thousand rubles), a figure that may shift with regional pricing and availability.

Earlier statements from the former head of Xbox mentioned that four Microsoft games would launch on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, signaling shifts in cross‑platform strategy that could influence future portable gaming ecosystems and launch expectations for devices like the MSI Claw and ROG Ally [Citation: Videocardz].
