The iPhone 16 Pro may feature an upgraded ultra-wide-angle camera with a 48-megapixel sensor. In this respect reports MacRumor’s post refers to an insider who appears on the Chinese social network Weibo under the pseudonym Instant Digital.

According to an insider, the iPhone 16 Pro will use two sensors with 48 MP resolution: in the main camera and in the ultra-wide-angle camera. The new sensor will allow the ultra-wide-angle camera to capture more light, improving photo quality when shooting at 0.5x. First of all, the quality will increase in low light conditions.

This also means that the “iPhone 16 Pro” may gain the ability to take 48MP ProRAW photos in ultra-wide-angle mode. These photos preserve more detail in the image file, giving the user more flexibility when editing photos.

MacRumors writes that Instant Digital is a moderately reliable source of information about Apple’s processes. For example, before this, the insider was the first to report the launch of the yellow iPhone 15, the emergence of Spatial Video support on the iPhone 15 Pro, a minor update to the Apple Watch Series 9, and more.
