The situation with the optimization of the PC version Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 remains tense and causes more and more dissatisfaction with gamers. Despite countless attempts to remedy the situation with the help of eight updates, the game was confronted with a new blow – the loss of the status of “tested” for Steam Deck, which was reduced to “playable” by the decision of the valve.
In February, after the first important update, which increased stability and adjusts the user interface, the game received the cherished verification. But even afterwards the players saw serious problems: the game hardly supported a stable frequency of 30 frames, required manual coordination graphic parameters and often flew away. A month later the situation did not improve, which led to a revision of the status.
The Nixxes team continues to work on improving the port, releasing new patches, but even the latest update has not solved the most important technical problems. Moreover, not only the owners of portable consoles experience difficulties – users of powerful gaming computers are also confronted with a decrease in performance and other technical problems.

The PC Gamer publication In its review of the PC version, the game critically appreciated only 57%, and characterized it as “a weak gate of the non-successful follow-up.” Despite the impressive visual effects and dynamic gameplay, the technical part of the game turned out to be insufficiently elaborated for a project of such a scale and budget.
The fact that the game has lost the status of “verified” – an event is quite rare for a project of this level. This is a clear sign that the developers still cannot fully eliminate the many technical problems with which players are confronted.
