The Borderlands film adaptation of Borderlands lasted at the cash register and collected less than a third of the budget. In the recent issue of the Podcast The Town, director Eli Roth said why the film turned out not to be successful in his opinion.
According to the filmmaker, the production of the photo was badly damaged by the Pandemie of Coronavirus. The film team did not understand how to work with Covid restrictions when everything had to be coordinated by Zoom.
I think none of us, none of us had expected how difficult everything would be because of the pandemic. It’s not just about photographing. Then the scolding and crosses begin, and you have six people on different sites, and each of them is closed, because the cities opened again, and now also the outbreak of “Covid”. We could not prepare ourselves in the same room, I could not work with the Stuntmannen team, could not do pre-production reasualizations were distributed in different places.
It is impossible to prepare a film of this scale via Zoom. We all thought we could do this, but we taped our donkeys.
Eli Company added that the author of Deadpool Tim Miller was involved in the last installation, so he had no idea what he would see in the cinema. “I remember and think: did I really reach the moment in my career when I sit down to watch a movie that says I wrote and directed it – and at the same time I sincerely don’t know what to expect?” He said.
