For Mortal Kombat 1 released update 1.008 in November, which brought many improvements and a new fighter to the game: Ghostface. It is currently available to owners of the Khaos Reigns expansion and will be available for purchase separately on October 26.

Features of patch 1.008 on PC:
- Improved game stability;
- Added a second confirmation prompt while generating PSO shader cache during loading;
- RGB effect settings have been introduced, these are now disabled by default;
- Added support for additional RGB and haptic effects;
- AMD FSR3 NAA technology as anti-aliasing option;
- Fixed font issues;
- Fixed issues in training modes that prevented the lesson from being completed;
- Fixed issues with voice chat in online matches;
- Improved performance;
- Fixed issues with viewing replays and other stability issues.
Features of patch 1.008 on Nintendo Switch:
- Fixed an issue with Noob Saibot’s display;
- Fixed various visual, audio, and other issues caused by character skins and palettes.
Additionally, the update added new skins to the game for Ermak, Rain, Kitana, Tanya, Frost and Sarina, and also fixed issues with some atrocities and fatalities.
