Dungeonborne is a first-person PvPvE game that focuses on exploring dungeons in search of valuable loot and escaping safely before the match ends. This process involves finding and activating certain portals that randomly appear throughout the dungeon. In this guide, we’ll show you how to find portals and escape a match in Dungeonborne.

How escaping the map works in Dungeonborne
One of the main goals in Dungeonborne is to explore dungeons in search of valuable loot and a portal to exit the map. Such objects appear a few minutes after starting the survival in the dungeon in completely random places in the location.

You have the right to check the appearance of portals – the game will inform you about this using a text log on the right side of the screen. Here you can also find information about the number of remaining available portals and about gamers who have recently used these facilities. The difficulty is that the portals are not displayed on the map in any way, and you have to look for them yourself, focusing only on the information from the journal.
To find portals, we recommend that you carefully inspect your surroundings: let yourself be guided by the blue tint that is visible from afar. Once you are close enough to the portal, you will receive a prompt to activate it. The activation itself takes about 10 seconds, but at the same time other players will be notified. Use the Ritual Whistle to hide information about the portal activation from prying eyes.

Remark: An activated portal can be used by any player. So if you find such an object, but do not plan to leave the map in the near future, it is best not to activate it now.
In addition to portals, locations have special escape rooms, marked on the map with blue icons. These rooms allow you to enter the shelter without using portals. However, this is very risky: there are only two such rooms, and after a player uses one, it becomes inaccessible to other players.
How to Survive and Get Off the Map in Dungeonborne
Every new game of Dungeonborne will be unique, because you can’t know the location of other players in advance. Moreover, it all depends on your goals: you can quickly grab some items and run away, or stay until the end of the match to find valuable loot or fight bosses and other players.
If you plan on finding easy items and leaving the match early, we recommend pre-equipping the Ritual Whistle we talked about above to hide your position when using the portal. Such items are marked on the map with light blue icons and are usually guarded by enemies.

If you decide to explore the dungeon until the end of the match, it’s best to use one of the regular portals in the outer areas of the dungeon, as most surviving players will leave the map via escape rooms by the end of the match.
