Palworld quickly became popular among players due to its simple and addictive gameplay. However, many gamers have encountered various bugs and errors that prevent them from enjoying the game to the fullest. For example, some players experience a black screen on startup, while others are unable to create a dedicated server for co-op play. In this guide we have collected possible problems and errors and described how to solve them.

Palworld Guides

blank

The difficulties in starting Palworld are explained by the high popularity of the game. It sold a million copies in eight hours and became one of the top games on Twitch on launch day. Due to the large number of players, the servers are overloaded and developers are working around the clock to resolve issues.

System requirements

Check the system requirements before starting Palworld. If your system does not meet the minimum requirements, the game may not work properly or may not launch at all. Check this out first before looking for other ways to solve problems.

Minimum requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit);
  • CPU: i5-3570K 3.4 GHz or higher;
  • RAM: 16GB RAM;

Error not found Session 91

Error code Not Found Session 91 appears when gamers try to connect to a non-existent server or to a game that does not have multiplayer mode enabled. To resolve the issue, connect to other servers or contact the host and request to activate cooperative mode.

Make sure the multiplayer game setting is enabled

If you’ve received confirmation that the server you’re trying to connect to is up, it’s worth checking if Co-op is enabled on that server.

blank

Check your network connection settings

If the Co-op option is also enabled on the server and the error still occurs, it may be worth checking your network connection.

If you are connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi, we recommend that you switch to a wired connection and check if the problem still persists. Otherwise, you will need to restart your modem or router to restore the default settings.

Error Cannot host multiplayer session

Xbox players in Palworld who try to return to worlds they created may receive the “Unable to host multiplayer session” error. This problem is caused by server overload. The developers have suggested a solution: disable multiplayer mode for this world. This is a temporary advisory until an official solution appears.

blank

  • From the Select World menu, highlight the affected world and click the Change World Settings button in the lower left corner of the screen.
  • From here, switch multiplayer mode to “OFF” before attempting to return to the world.

The character appears under the textures – what to do?

After rejoining the world, your character can often appear beneath the textures in the water. In this case you cannot get on land and you are always in the water. To fix this problem, simply end the gaming session and try starting it again. If this doesn’t help, enable or disable Co-Op mode in the game settings. You can also try playing the game again.

Error OnCreateSession Complete Delegate bWasSuccessful == false

The error message “OnCreatSession Complete Delegate bWasSuccessful == false” means that you are trying to connect to a server while the game servers are overloaded. This can be solved by running single player mode for your server. In the world settings, disable “Co-op” and continue playing in single-player mode.

Black screen when starting Palworld

blank

When starting the game, some users encounter a black screen. Nothing happens – no crashes, no errors. According to reports from gamers in the gaming community, the issue only occurs on the PC version of the game. To solve this problem, you can use some tips that we have described below.

Wait a few minutes

Game developer Pocketpair acknowledged the issue and recommended waiting a while while the studio collects data on the bug. After some time, players received an official response, stating that they had to wait a maximum of 10 minutes to resolve the problem. This is because an unexpected problem may occur during startup. A message with this advice was posted on the official Discord server.

Disable full screen mode and run it as administrator

On the PC version of Steam, users have found that toggling the compatibility settings allows them to fix the error and get rid of the black screen so they can start the game right away. Here are the instructions:

  • Open Steam, find the game and go to the main folder (Manage – Browse Local Files);
  • Right-click on the starting file Palworld.exe and select “Characteristics”;
  • Go to the tab “Compatibility”;
  • Click the check box “Turn off full screen optimization”;
  • Also check the box “Run as administrator”;
  • Try to start the game.

Check the integrity of the game files

If the previous recommendations do not help you get rid of the black screen when launching Palworld, you may need to check the integrity of the game files in Steam. For this:

  • Find Palworld in your Steam library;
  • Right click and open “Characteristics”;
  • Go to the tab “Installed Files”;
  • Press the button “Check the integrity of game files”.

Reinstall Palworld

Another way to get rid of the problem is to reinstall the game on a different system drive. Completely uninstall Palworld from your computer using the Steam launcher and then point to a different installation drive.

Update your video card driver

The last recommendation that will help solve the problem with a black screen when starting a game is to install the latest version of the video card driver or completely reinstall the driver.

You can also check for updates using NVIDIA GeForce Experience and AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. To do this, you need to start one of the programs, go to the “Driver” tab and click on the “Check for updates” button.

UE Pal Error – Crash on exception access violation

blank

A small number of PC players are receiving the “UE Pal Crashed – Exception Access Violation” error while playing Palworld. Usually this error is accompanied by a crash on the desktop (the game crashes and ends the process). At the moment there is no official solution from the developers, but some users report that checking the integrity of game files or completely reinstalling Palworld helps get rid of it. At the same time, the action is possible both in the Palworld version for Steam and in the Xbox Game Pass version on PC.

Human error BP class popup

blank

The BP Class Human Error popup appears after you capture a Syndicate goon and then approach it and try to view the details. In fact, the error is harmless, because to fix it you simply need to click the “OK” button to close the dialog box. But with this, the Syndicate thug game model will simply disappear.

Error No password has been entered

Many Palworld players have encountered the “No password was entered” error when trying to connect to a shared server, even using the password set by the server owner. The issue has been known since the game’s launch and its presence was confirmed by the developer of Pocket Pair.

blank

The developers said they are working on a fix and plan to release it in the next update. Until a solution is ready, they suggest setting up the server as a community server. This solution allows you to play with friends on a password-protected server until an official solution is released.

General troubleshooting tips

Palworld often has connection problems, especially with dedicated servers. Make sure your internet connection is stable before playing. If you are using Wi-Fi and having problems, try a wired connection using an Ethernet cable.

blank

Check the integrity of files after installing updates

If you are playing on a PC and errors appear after installing updates, check the integrity of the game files.

  • For steam: Right-click on the game and select “Properties” – “Installed files” – “Check the integrity of game files”.
  • For Xbox (Game Pass): select Palworld from the library and then “…” – “Manage” – “Files” – “Scan and Repair”.

Check whether your PC meets the requirements for hosting servers

Dedicated server requirements:

  • CPU: 4 cores (recommended);
  • RAM: 8 GB RAM or more;
  • Net: UDP port 8211 (default). Port forwarding is required.

If you want to play on private servers in Palworld, read the developer’s official technical guide first. It describes the complete requirements for creating a dedicated server. If you’re having trouble setting it up on your PC, make sure your PC meets these requirements. In the same guide you will find instructions on port forwarding.
