Remake production Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is not doing well: the game, which was developed by Indian teams, was ported twice, after which it was transferred to another studio. Indian game industry expert Rishi Alwani told multiple sources in the studio what is wrong with game development.

- Ubisoft has not provided a design document for the original game describing the development process. As a result, the designers had to recreate the game “by eye” without any guidance;
- The remake was supposed to be based on the Anvil Engine, which also underlies Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. At the same time, management forced them to use Bayek’s animations from Origins for the Prince. The characters have different body types, which is why the prince has such weird animations in the trailer;
- The game director had no experience with game development, but still held such an important position. He has now been transferred to the Riders Republic;
- Shortly after the negative reaction to the trailer, development of The Sands of Time was transferred to Electric Square, but this had little effect on the game’s state.
It’s unknown when we’ll hear about Prince of Persia again – perhaps the game’s development had to be restarted from scratch.
