Why you need determination in Rogue Legacy 2
Resolve is a basic hero stat that allows you to acquire various relics while exploring the castle. The determination indicator is measured as a percentage and you can track it in the top left corner of the screen.
As you upgrade your castle, you’ll unlock the blacksmith’s room, where you can craft weapons, armor, cloaks, and amulets. You will have to find the drawings in the castle yourself. Each item carried by the blacksmith requires a certain amount of determination and increases the carrying weight. The fewer items the heir has, the more determination will be available. If the determination level drops below 100%, the hero’s total health decreases by the same percentage.
Where to find and how to buy relics for determination
When exploring the kingdom, look for rooms with a special interest icon (a purple icon with an exclamation mark). Most often, relics or special apples are presented in such locations. The latter are necessary to restore vitality or increase the maximum amount of health.
If you find a room with two relics to choose from, you’ll be determined to pay to get one. Initially, the description and features of unexplored relics are hidden. The purchase of such relics requires 25 to 60 points of determination. After the death of the hero, all the relics found are not transferred to the heir and disappear.
How to increase your determination?
By default, 225% resolution is available for each hero, but you can increase this figure thanks to the “Psychiatrist” ability unlocked in your castle. There are a total of 20 skill levels available, each subsequent level adds 1% determination.
To unlock this ability, you must first unlock the Butcher Shop building and access the Barbarian class. After that, open the “Meditation Hall” of the first level. Now you can build the tower you want and increase the starting value of the determination.
How to reduce the cost of relics?
To acquire certain relics in the castle, you have to pay a certain amount of determination. After opening the Psychiatrist Tower, new upgrades will open up for you. Learn the Archaeological Camp skill to reduce the cost of relics. There are five skill levels available, each subsequent level makes relics cheaper by 1%.
