Independent developer Greg Coulthard posted a video showing what it could look like Minecraft, if released in 2022 on the modern Unreal Engine 5.1.

The project works in real time and uses features such as Lumen (a fully dynamic global lighting and reflection system), Nanite (virtual geometry technology) and Raytracing (ray tracing).
To use a computer with the following hardware: Intel Core i5 12400, NVIDIA RTX 3060 and 32 GB RAM. The average frame rate was 55-60 FPS.
The world was generated using the Simplex Noise plugin. You can download the project here.
